19, Pregnant and Confused

Yesterday i met a teenage girl, 19 to be specific, who is facing a rather tough time. She is pregnant and worse still she is confused about who the father of her unborn child is.

Chido *not her real name* is an Upper Six student in rural Mashonaland East and has had relationships with two young men, one a student at University of Zimbabwe, the other works at a company in Harare. Both men were never aware of the other and they both do not know that they could become a father very soon.

The girl claims not to have told anyone else of the pregnancy and that not even her parents know of it and that the pregnancy is apparently 3 months on!The situation the girl is facing could mean disaster for her. One, she might get so stressed up that she could fail her coming Advanced Level Final exam or worse she could be abandoned by both men if they find out about her infidelity.

Chido is at the moment so confused she does not even know who to turn to or what to do, asa friend the little i could do was advise her to talk to her parents particularly her mother or at least someone she trusts to be understanding and not judgemental.

Such unfortunate circumstances should not haunt such a little girl but when it has already happened, weshould help out in whatever way we can!

I'm a big dreamer.Nothing can bring me down!

I grew up in a place where the people knew more about how to fix a joint of marijuana than write their own names.

As i grew up i had dreams of becoming a media mogul someday.I was not born of rich parents but my parents managed to eke out and send my brothers and i to the best schools they could afford (government schools). Despite having grown up among people with very little or no ambition, i never let go of my dreams and never will.

Those who know me well know very well that Wesley Magura is a guy with big dreams, i have been known to be a writer, cartoonist and dreamer because since i was little i have never been afraid to show off my talents.

Like anyone with big dreams i have been ridicled, and been told i was too old to be drawing cartoons among other insults but i have never backed down because i believe that in life there are no obstacles, just challenges and that it doesnt matter where you are from all that matters is where you want to be.Believe in yourself and in God!
